Rock Climbing - The Haute Couserans area
Le Haute-Couserans
area provides 225 routes over 6 crags in a beautiful high mountain
setting. Many of the sectors are high and shady making probably the
best venue to escape the heat of summer, but can be a bit cold at other
times.
Turguilla/Gérac/Casierens
70 Routes | 4b to 8a | Sport

Granite crags around the 'Guzet' Ski area of single and multi pitch
sport climbs. The rock is excellent quality, particularly at
Turguilla and gives a range of climbing with sectors to suite most
levels. The drive is around 50 minutes with walk-ins up to 20 minutes.
Port de Lers
65 Routes | 5a+ to 7c | Sport
Port
de Lers is a beautiful part of the Ariege and home to some good
climbing. The rock is limestone at around 1500m. Another summer venue
but this time with sectors facing all directions. The routes are
predominantly single pitch and mostly in 6s and 7s. Around 50 minutes
drive with walk-ins from 10 to 20 minutes.
